KHI Foods is a Kentucky based food processing company embracing sustainability. We focus on the manufacture of value added shelf stable and IQF frozen foods purchased from local and regional farmers.
KHI aligns with the philosophy I learned from my father that a business should not only turn a profit but benefit the community.
KHI is concerned with the wellbeing and profitability of regional farmers as well as preserving the time honored traditional food processing techniques. We use the same principles to process foods that my mother learned from my grandmother. We utilize ingredients sourced from small scale family farms in Kentucky and surrounding states. Our products are distributed regionally and nationally.
KHI purchases local produce and coordinates the use sales of agricultural products from local and regional farmers to wholesale, food service, and institutional customers.
KHI buys tomatoes, peppers, green beans, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, sorghum, honey, and yellow squash from local farmers. These items are minimally processed and IQF frozen for year round sales.
Other produce items we purchase are manufactured into value added products. These products are sold and distributed nationally under the Mossy Oak® brand.
Additionally, KHI helps local farmers and small producers with the development of products, marketing and sales of their value added products, and distribution of their goods. KHI also private labels products (catsup, salsa, barbecue sauce) for local farmers and farm markets.
KHI maintains a small batch production facility for farmers as well as providing low cost printed labels with nutritional data that meets FDA standards and approval.
